MANY STRANDS ... one parish
The heart and soul of our faith is service to our community to the world, and to each other. At St. Agatha, the Christian Services Commission coordinates and oversees several committees that benefit people in need, and help develop relationships with God and with each other.
St. Vincent de Paul
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Agatha engages in silent works of chariry. Spiritual and corporal acts of mercy include fund raising for the poor, contributions to the St. Lawrence Haven, organizing Open Shelter dinners, northwest Partnership of Churches, Habitat for Humanity, supporting the Columbus Hispanic community, mailing bulletins to shut-ins, visiting hospitals and nursing homes, food and gas vouchers for those in need, and assistance to JOIN, the diocesan service group.
Respect Life
This committee is dedicated to promoting and defending the sanctity of human life. Its activities are non-confrontational and politically and educationally responsible. Respect Life prepares baby layettes for the poor, holds a spring flower sale and participates in various local and national activities, including spiritual adoptions and collections for mothers and babies.
St. Agatha Women's Club
The Women's Club welcomes all women of the Parish as members and promotes social and spiritual growth through social activities, educational programs and fundraising events. Service activities include altar care, prayer garden and Rosary after Daily Mass.
Sandwich Making for the Poor
Twice a month, a group of parishioners gathers to make sandwiches for the poor and deliver them to St.John's/Holy Rosary Community Center on the south side of Columbus.
Men's Club
Open to all men of the parish, this club conducts social activities and service projects to benefit the Parish and school.
Outreach
Outreach is a seniors group that meets for such social and educational activities as day trips and various monthly gatherings.
Bereavement Committee
The Bereavement Commitree provides nourishment and comfort to fellow parishioners who have lost a loved one by providing lunch following the funeral Mass. Prayer Lines: for any special intentions or needs, there are five prayer lines consisting of people who will pray for those in need.
Vocations
This group prays for and encourages vocations. The committee hss an apprecitidon ceremony for the parish's altar servers and organies trips to the Josephinium.
